A client verbally agrees to continue her bath, but her body language shows discomfort. The healthcare worker notices the nonverbal response, pauses, offers to stop, and adapts the care.

Mrs. Oyelaran, 88, has dementia and a urinary tract infection. The healthcare worker is washing her arms in bed. She has said yes to everything so far.

How to practice

A simple flow students can follow every time.
